If you’ve heard it once, you’ve heard it over and over again. When you are volksmarching, you need to be prepared. What should you wear? What other items do you need to bring along?
To begin with, it’s always a good idea to sport your Ramstein Roadrunners gear! Let everyone know who you are right from the start.
What should I wear on a Volksmarch?
- Show up in your Roadrunner Gear!
- Comfortable walking shoes and good socks
- Layer for warmth and keeping dry
- a hat
What Should I Bring?
- Some Euro change for start cards and refreshments
- A non-disposable cup for the free drink at the control points
- My IVV record booklets to get credit for my walk
- A small first-aid kit to include things like – bandaids, pain reliever, sunscreen, tweezers
What Apps are Helpful
- Google Maps – for finding your way to the Start as well as uploading the GPX files for map routes
- Map My Run/Walk – Keeps track of your actual path, your pace, and overall walk time
