All About IVV Awards – Getting Credit for Your Walks

One of the best things about being a Ramstein Roadrunner is that you can tally up your walks, all your kilometers and have a great story to take back to the States!

IVV awards allow you to collect proof that you got out and really experienced Germany. They are the best souvenirs.

Getting your booklets stamped at th end of the walk helps you accumulate awards.

What are IVV Awards?

IVV pin.

The IVV has established a tiered award system to make it easier to track your achievements.

There are two types of award tiers, one for the number of events you’ve participated in, and one for the number of kilometers that you’ve walked/ran.

When a level is completed, you turn in your books, receive a certificate and IVV pin.

Then it’s on to the next level…

Participation Awards

  • Participation or Teilnehmer awards include these levels: 10, 30, 50, 75, 100, 125, and up to 600.
  • Any IVV event is counted. Of course, volkmarches, but there’s also swimming, biking, kayaking, and other IVV sports.

Kilometer Awards

Kilometer levels start at 500 Kms and go upward to 10,000 Kms.

Volksmarching is for all ages.
Beautiful trails await you while you volksmarch.

How to Redeem Your Awards

As a member of the Ramstein Roadrunners, all you have to do is bring your completed booklets to a meeting and it will be sent in for you.

Alternatively, you can take it to the DVV Table (Abzeichenwart) which is the German award representative.

They will review it, validate it, and return it to you along with your IVV pin, certificate and a DVV log book (Abzeichen-Pass) all at no charge to you.

It is imperative that either way, you keep track of this log book!  Make a note of the number on the book and write it on your event and distance books.

This is considered an “official” document so take care not to lose or misplace it.  Be sure to keep your canceled books and the Abzeichen-Pass because you will need them when you complete your next level.
